Our core patch is Melbourne's north and east: Banyule, Manningham, Whitehorse, Darebin, and the inner north-east. That's where we do 90% of our work. It's where we're fastest and where we know every shortcut.

But Melbourne is a big city. And sometimes the call comes from a bit further out.

Maybe you're in the south-east and your regular guy is booked solid. Maybe you've got a European car and nobody local wants to touch it. Maybe you've already called three locksmiths and nobody can do it today.

Over 22 years, Buzz has taken callouts across a fair swath of greater Melbourne. Some of the areas outside our core zone where we've done jobs:

• Nillumbik, Diamond Creek, Eltham, Hurstbridge. Leafy outer north-east, good roads, and close enough to our base that it's an easy trip.
• Whittlesea, South Morang, Mernda, Doreen. The northern growth corridor. New estates, new cars, and builders who've lost their ute keys on a job site.
• Yarra Ranges, Lilydale, Mooroolbark, Croydon. Outer east. A bit further, but for the right job it's doable.
• Boroondara, Hawthorn, Camberwell, Balwyn. Old-money east. Expensive cars, expensive dealer quotes. We can usually save you a bundle.
• Moreland/Merri-bek, Brunswick, Coburg, Pascoe Vale. Inner north-west. Short trip from our base.
• CBD & surrounds, We can come into the city. Parking is what it is, but we'll figure it out.

Will We Come to You?

Honest answer: it depends. A few things we consider:

The job itself

Some jobs justify a longer drive. An all-keys-lost Mercedes replacement in Hawthorn? Worth the trip. A $75 basic key copy in Frankston? Probably not. You'll be better off finding someone local.

Our schedule

If we've got a clear run in the afternoon and your job is a 40-minute drive, easy. If the day's already stacked with local bookings, we might need to schedule for tomorrow.

The car

We specialise in vehicles up to 2022 models. If your car is within our range and the key type is something we carry blanks for, distance is the only question.

The key type

We carry a wide range of blanks and fobs in the van. For common makes like Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Ford, Holden, we almost certainly have what we need. For rarer vehicles, we might need a day to source the blank.

We'll tell you straight away if we can help. No runaround. If we can't do it, we'll say so, and if we know someone closer to you who's decent, we'll point you their way.
